چکیده

Abstract Lignin is a potentially high natural source of biological aromatic substances. However, decomposition the polymer has proven to be quite challenging, as complex bonds are fairly difficult break down chemically. This article intended provide an overview various recent methods for catalytic chemical depolymerization biopolymer lignin into products. For this purpose, nickel-, zeolite- and palladium-supported catalysts were examined in detail. In order achieve this, experiments last years collected, efficiency individual was examined. included evaluating reaction conditions under which work most efficiently. The influence co-catalysts Lewis acidity also investigated. results show that it possible control obtained product selectivity very well by choice respective combined with proper conditions.

Enzymatic Degradation of Lignin in Soil: A Review

Lignin is a major component of soil organic matter and also a rich source of carbon dioxide in soils. However, because of its complex structure and recalcitrant nature, lignin degradation is a major challenge. Efforts have been made from time to time to understand the lignin polymeric structure better and develop simpler, economical, and bio-friendly methods of degradation. Certain enzymes from...

Degradation of Lignin by Pyrolysis

Fast pyrolysis is an efficient technique for thermal degradation of lignin to bio-oils containing bio-phenols for the synthesis of adhesives, resins, and polymers. Lignin has a complex structure, and hence a large number of pyrolytic components are generated during the pyrolysis process. The composition of the pyrolytic products depends on the type of lignin, temperature, types of catalyst, and...

Structure and catalytic mechanism of LigI: insight into the amidohydrolase enzymes of cog3618 and lignin degradation.

LigI from Sphingomonas paucimobilis catalyzes the reversible hydrolysis of 2-pyrone-4,6-dicarboxylate (PDC) to 4-oxalomesaconate and 4-carboxy-2-hydroxymuconate in the degradation of lignin. This protein is a member of the amidohydrolase superfamily of enzymes. The protein was expressed in Escherichia coli and then purified to homogeneity. The purified recombinant enzyme does not contain bound ...

Approaches to Measure Chemical Similarity ± a Review

Although the concept of similarity is a convenient for humans, a formal definition of similarity between chemical compounds is needed to enable automatic decision-making. The objective of similarity measures in toxicology and drug design is to allow assessment of chemical activities. The ideal similarity measure should be relevant to the activity of interest. The relevance could be established ...
